Stand Still

Psalms 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

In the business of life we often forget to look up and remember where our blessings come. And recently, I have been placed in a place to where I have had to Stand Still.

If you have seen my previous lessons, you have noticed I have had a very busy, fulfilling, hectic life as many of you have or had.

While working my job as Store Training Manager, I injured myself on the job. I always figured there was nothing to stop me, nothing that I couldn’t accomplish in my career. I have had many achievement awards over the years and now getting to help in training others to reach their goals and climb their mountains in their careers.

It was a very satisfying and rewarding challenge in my life.

But, on July 13th I was placed at a Stand Still. After months of therapy, and surgeries to sever the nerves in part of my spine, for pain management. The doctor has placed a lifting limit on me that has seemed to end my long path of career achievements and brought me to a time to Stand Still and assess my life’s goals and future.

I never dreamed that my rewarding life would be brought to a Stand Still so abruptly.

Now I find myself at home trying to find things to fill my day. House cleaning, cooking, office projects and church projects but it still seems I find myself looking for more.

My body don’t allow me to go as I once did, non stop running, lifting, reaching, training, counseling and daily tasks the retail realm and customer service demands.

I know in time, as I push to reach my daily goals, that my life goals, changing as they continuously mold, will be reached, but remembering it has to be in God’s time not mine.

Sometimes, we as Christian ladies loose sight of what God has given us to do in our homes. We get so focused on our career paths that we push our families and friends on the back burner.

I have always loved the passages of the Virtuous Women and have always tried to layout my life to reflect a godly woman. But I fail in so many ways.

Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Proverbs 31:11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Proverbs 31:12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Proverbs 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

Proverbs 31:14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Proverbs 31:15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Proverbs 31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Proverbs 31:17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

Proverbs 31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Proverbs 31:19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Proverbs 31:20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

Proverbs 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

Proverbs 31:22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

Proverbs 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

Proverbs 31:24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Proverbs 31:25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Proverbs 31:26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Proverbs 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Proverbs 31:29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Proverbs 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Proverbs 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Our families should always be our first priority here on earth, and sometimes we as busy ladies loose sight of the greatest challenge in our lives. I pray as God remolds my path that I will keep my priorities in line as God has laid out in the scriptures for his godly women.

I pray that I never make my husband or most of all my God ashamed of me in my daily lives endeavors. I find myself failing for than achieving in my path.

Proverbs 12:4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

I find myself grumbling, complaining and making not only myself, but my husband miserable in my search for finding answers to my daily questions.

Proverbs 19:13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

Proverbs 21:9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

Proverbs 27:15-16 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.

I do not want to tear down my life with bitterness or hatred.

Proverbs 14:1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

I need to search the scriptures to find out what God’s perfect will is in my life and use this time of Standing Still to be prosperous for Him.

Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Psalms 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Lord help me to remember that everything is in thy hand, and you are in full control of what my life holds. Help me to remember that you mold me and make me what I need to be.

Isaiah 2:11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

So please remember, when you feel you are untouchable, unstoppable or unreachable, God may put you at a Stand Still to help you remember that a He is in control.
Thank you Lord.  :)
